We live in a time where it is so easy to get cut up in our day to day activities (meeting appointments, deadlines, bills and commitments), to the extent that we lose sight of the fact that JESUS IS STILL COMING BACK.

2 Peter 3:9 helps us understand that the delay in the coming of Jesus is not a result of Him being slow in keeping His promise, “Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9b).

Imagine what would have happened to those who surrendered their lives to Christ last month or even yesterday, if the Lord has not tarried in His coming.

Now, 2 Peter 3:10 further reveals the truth that, though He tarries in His coming, all for more people to be saved, His coming is imminent and most assuredly, bound to happen. Meaning, “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. ” (2 Peter 3:11-14). “

Beloved, God expects us to focus on Him with undivided attention (Psalm 42:1-2) because He does not just want us to know His acts, rather, He is more particular about us knowing His ways. (Psalm 103:7).
