Text: Mark 4:24–25 (TPT)
Introduction
The way you listen to and respond to God’s Word determines what you receive.
This principle is the foundation for understanding the power of your own words, because your words flow from what you hear and believe.
Understanding Faith
Faith is often misunderstood, but Scripture shows it has a broader purpose.
(2 Corinthians 4:13)
Faith operates in three dimensions:
➡️ Faith Is About God
It originates from Him.
➡️ Faith Is About You
It is given to you as a tool to use.
➡️ Faith Is About the Devil
It is your weapon to resist him.
Features of Faith
📝 Faith Is a Gift to Be Practiced
Faith is not something you struggle to produce, it has already been given to you.
Scripture confirms this:
- Faith is allotted to us (2 Peter 1:1, Romans 12:3)
- Faith is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8, Philippians 1:29)
- Faith is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22)
- Faith grows and increases (2 Thessalonians 1:3, 1 Timothy 1:14, Colossians 1:4)
📝 Faith Is for Transaction (The Currency of Heaven)
Faith is not God’s problem, it is our solution.
God has already provided everything we need.
(Ephesians 1:3)
Think of faith as the currency of heaven.
It is what you use to access what already belongs to you, healing, provision, and increase.
You cannot transact with doubt, fear, or human effort.
The legal tender of heaven is the Word of God.
(2 Corinthians 4:13)
The Purpose of Faith
⏩ To Claim What Is Yours
Faith helps you bring spiritual blessings into physical reality.
⏩ To Resist the Enemy
As you walk in faith, opposition may come.
Faith empowers you to stand firm.
Note on Patience:
Patience is simply faith sustained over time.
Faith and Your Words
Faith is not only for praying, it is for speaking.
We often spend more time talking to God than hearing from Him.
But both are necessary:
- (Jeremiah 33:3) Call to God, He answers
- (Habakkuk 2:2) Receive and write what He says
You are called not just to speak about situations, but to speak to them.
The Pattern from Creation
In the beginning, there was darkness and chaos.
(Genesis 1:1–3)
God did not describe the darkness.
He spoke light into existence.
When you see challenges, do not amplify the problem.
Declare the solution.
The Power of the Tongue
Scripture makes it clear:
- Life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21)
- God creates the fruit of our lips (Isaiah 57:19)
- God responds to what we say (Numbers 14:28)
There is no neutral ground.
Your words are either producing life or death.
Practical Examples of Speaking Life
🎯 Ezekiel and the Dry Bones
(Ezekiel 37:4–7)
God told Ezekiel to speak, not just observe.
Life came when words were released.
🎯 The Widow’s Oil
(2 Kings 4:1–7)
The flow continued as long as there was capacity.
Negative words and doubt can limit the flow of God’s provision.
🎯 The Ministry of Angels
(Psalm 103:20)
Angels respond to the voice of God’s Word.
When you speak the Word in faith, you activate divine assistance.
Final Charge
Stop speaking about the darkness.
Start speaking light.
Align your words with God’s Word.
Let your speech reflect your faith.
Remember, your words are creating your future.
Choose life, so that you and those connected to you may live.
